What makes TEIOC Language School, founded by Erikan citizen Khany Saydam, different from others is that it provides language education with the NLP coding technique. Saydam, who says that they teach English to their students as their mother tongue in a short period of 6 months, also says that they also provide NLP coding technique training in addition to language education. We leave you alone with Khany Saydam to get to know TEIOC Language School better.
Can we get to know you?
I am Khany Saydam. After graduating from high school in Izmir, I studied political science at the University of California, UCLA. I received specialized training on NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) coding technique at the same university, and I had the opportunity to meet Yona Sabar, who was giving Aramaic lessons on NLP technique to Mel Gibson, one of the Hollywood actors at that time. My teacher Yona’s words ‘man’s freedom is hidden in the subconscious’ must have impressed me so much that I started to specialize in NLP.
So, how did you decide to return to Turkey?
When I came from America on holiday two years ago, I was very impressed by people’s unhappiness and their desire to leave the country they live in. I wanted to stay in Turkey and do something for my country because these lands gave me all the values I had when I went to the world stage. That’s why I decided to return. I literally rolled up my sleeves and said, ‘Now is the time to pay back the education and experience I received to the lands that nourished me here.’ After returning to my country, I taught English using the NPL coding technique to candidates who wanted to get the title of associate professor at Afyon Kocatepe University and Izmir. A year ago, I founded TEIOC (The English Institute of California) Language School. We issue internationally valid certificates in our institution affiliated with the Ministry of Education.
Sir, first of all, can you give us some information about the NLP coding technique?
If we translate NLP, which stands for Neuro Linguistic Programming, into Turkish, we can call it ‘Neurological Language Programming’. Let me explain it this way; The source of every behavior we do and our thoughts is our nervous system. Our five senses are what carry data to our nervous system. Since what we perceive with our five senses tends to manipulate us, we cannot prevent manipulation, but with the awakening of consciousness we learn not to surrender to it. For example, if you experience panic, excitement or fear while speaking a new language you have learned, you cannot speak that language because you surrender to the manipulated emotions created by these thoughts. In the NLP coding technique, you become aware of what you surrender to. Willpower comes into play; You don’t give in to panic, fear, or “they’re going to laugh at me” feelings. That is, if you put your finger into the electrical socket, you cannot be angry at the electricity for striking you, because that will belongs to you. In this technique, we learn the L of NLP, the language of neurology, and discover understanding with our own essence. What we actually learn here is the language of our mind. Then, when you get electrocuted when you put your hand into the electrical outlet with your free will, it is wrong to be angry with electricity, you take responsibility and realize that what comes to you from your intellectual field is a manipulation.
Teacher Khany, what makes your language education different?
We do not just provide language training, we provide this training with NLP coding technique. We see ourselves more as an NLP center. We have 3 keys that support the NLP coding technique. The first is Imagination, the second is Intonation (the emotional tone you give to the word when you speak), and the third is Repetition (repetition). Because the subconscious never forgets something that repeats itself.
PILOT REGION WAS SELECTED
Is there a special reason why you chose Değirmendere to open an institution?
The University of California chose this area. He sees this place as a district of Istanbul, not Kocaeli. That’s why Değirmendere was chosen as the pilot region. Small places have a greater impact in boutique education. We deal with our students one-on-one and can devote more time to each of them. What is important to us is to spare quality time for our students.
You say you taught the language in 6 months. Isn’t this very ambitious?
Yes, we complete all levels in 6 months. This claim is based on this; Just because something takes longer doesn’t mean it’s of better quality. The important thing is to follow the right path. We provide result-oriented training by using time correctly. In this region; We have Erasmus students or soldiers who want to work in a foreign country, they want to learn a language in a limited time. In fact, we can shorten the time because we do subconscious coding. The fact that we teach languages in a short time saves our students a lot of time.
Let’s talk a little about the education system.
We do not have a course system. Course systems are A-1, A-2, B-1, B-2, C-1, C-2 and it takes 2 months to finish one course. We teach 2 levels in 1 level and even teach the questions in different ways with alternative answers. What is important for us is to be ‘you’ centered. That’s why our trainings are leveled as You1, You2 and YouDone. You1; A-1 and A-2, You2; YouDone covers C-1 and C-2, while YouDone covers B-1 and B-2. We build the skeleton of the language with our levels and build the muscles with the 3 keys I mentioned before: imagination, intonation and repetition. Then we flesh out the body together. Therefore, we obtain a new body, install a new processor and create a new person.
WITH FOREIGN TEACHERS
As far as I know, you provide language training with NLP coding technique to companies as well as your school, right?
Yes. For example, we provide language education by making agreements with colleges, kindergartens or factories. We taught English using the NLP technique to the managers of a workshop that sews for a famous clothing brand in Istanbul. Apart from language education, we also teach NLP coding technique. In NLP training, you meet yourself and you can adapt what you learn to your life. In NLP training, we show the individual what he can achieve in a short time by learning the language of the subconscious.
Could you tell us a little about your teaching staff?
We have a teaching staff of 3 people, including me. I am taking English and Spanish classes. Our teacher Donovan Jairos also takes English classes like me. Our teacher Delilah Dakouit teaches French. Our teaching staff are successful in applying the NLP technique as well as providing education in their native languages. Of course, it is also a plus that they are teaching their native language. They know how language is used in daily life. In our lessons; Instead of providing education from books, we focus on patterns that our students can use in daily life. When teaching the language, we explain the concept of time, but we do not teach it with ‘tense’ patterns. Because in daily life and in practical conversation, it is difficult to bring complements or time concepts into sentences with these patterns. We don’t have to know all the tenses as concepts, we just need to code which suffixes and affixes we will use for which tense. When we create the skeleton of the language, our tendency to learn English is also formed.
WE ACHIEVED 98% SUCCESS
You are the only one in Turkey, so are you considering franchising?
We are starting to provide franchises as of September. We achieved a success rate of 98% last year. Here we taught English even to children with dyslexia. We provide English education to these children in the field. We go to the market together and speak English while shopping. We actually practice by carrying the language into our daily lives.
What are your criteria for franchising?
We prefer to give franchises to institutions that can carry our corporate identity. Those who apply to us must first master our NLP system and receive training from us. We also provide support in establishing their staff and creating their systems.
Lastly, does TEIOC Language School have a slogan?
Our slogan is ‘Knowing a language is freedom’. We teach languages in practice, but the real meaning of our slogan is that we give freedom to the individual by teaching a language that no one else teaches. We teach the individual the language of the subconscious. That’s why knowing a language is freedom and not everyone can access it. We enable someone who sees everything concretely in the material world to go beyond their limits. When he goes beyond the limits, he learns the language of his subconscious.
